Best Dressed at the Emmy’s

My favorite part of the Emmy’s isn’t the actual award show part.. It’s the fabulous outfits on the red carpet! My favorite outfit of the night was probably Sofia Vergara. I love how she’s knows that a mermaid styled dress compliments her body the best and wears different variations of it for almost every event that she goes to. Her emerald jewelry looked great against her dress without looking to Christmas-y. 10 extra points to her for wearing the color of the year! Tina Vey in that cobalt blue dress is something to talk about too! How could she have gone so long before wearing a dress of that color? It makes her look years younger! The detailing and designs of all the dresses of the night were fantastic. I feel like everybody broke out of their comfort zone or tried something new when it came to their dresses. Heidi Klum’s beaded dress was gorgeous and the color on the dress was STUNNING and modern and something that I would have totally worn if I ever went to a party like the ones in The Great Gatsby 😉 Kaley Cuoco sported a beautiful deep wine red dress that looked great with her smokey eyes and nude lip. Gosh… What I would do to wear that dress…. Who do you think was best dressed?

My Favorite Blogs- of the moment :)

Free People’s BLDG blog

Free People BLDG

This is probably my favorite blog to scroll through because it inspires me to live a healthier life style and the bohemian flair is different from any other blogs that I go to. The DIY and beauty articles require natural ingredients which I really like because they are things I have lying around my house and aren’t harmful to my skin. And their fashion articles are great because who doesn’t love clothes from Free People?!? Below I’ve linked some articles that I think are worth while to read 🙂

Michelle Phan

What I really love about Michelle Phan is that she’s a good role model for young girls. Everything she writes is meant to inspire girls to follow their dreams and to help them look their best so they feel great about themselves. Her blog has instructional articles to teach girls different makeup techniques and she also links her YouTube videos for easy access to a more visual demonstration.

Rise of the Fashion Sweatshirt

When you think of a sweatshirt you think of comfort, and who doesn’t love to be comfortable? The classic sweatshirt has been recreated to be a fashion statement for both women, and men. These sweatshirts aren’t the plain old heather grey color with a logo though. These sweatshirts have been embellished with embroidery, patterns, quilting, zippers, and peplums. Instead of being made out of cotton, some are even made up of leather and furs. I think that sweatshirts also make trends from the runway easier to wear. Designer Brian Lichtenberg has created popular sweatshirts with clever world plays on the front such as Homiés (Hermiés) and Féline (Céline). According to Paula Reed (Harvey Nichols Fashion Director), “The appeal has got to be in the artwork- I think people are trying to buy something with the element of originality in it. Its not just the question of having a sweatshirt, people are expecting that artisanal quality- the embellished elements, the beaded elements, and the decorative elements.” The fashion sweatshirt is no longer just a trend. I think that it is a staple to have in your wardrobe.

Denim Daze

Everybody’s heard of the dreaded “denim on denim” right? I’m here to tell you that if you match up the pieces correctly, you will strike the perfect balance between effortlessly timeless and sophisticated. The next new trend is going to be patchwork. I myself have recently purchased a denim patchwork shirt and I’m nothing but obsessed with wearing it with my dark wash jeans. Instead of buying a new pair of jeans or a new shirt, you can save your old beat up jeans and use swatches of the material to mend the current ones your wearing.

Clear Purses? Really?

Am I the only person who thinks that clear purses are an invasion of privacy? I understand that people think they’re funky and modern but do you really want people looking at the stuff you keep in your purse? My purse to me is like my home away from home. The stuff I keep in there is private and I would die of embarrassment if people could look through it! I might use a clear purse if I was going to a special event where I wouldn’t need all of my stuff that I usually carry but to me it would just look awkward. What are some of your opinions of clear purses?

Torn by Ronny Kobo

I think I’ve found a new favorite designer! Ronny Kobo creates clothes with the perfect balance between trends and classicism by using updated elements to create timeless styles. Her pieces are strong, bold, and just my type! Her line is growing rapidly and fashionistas, industry insiders, and starlets are seen wearing her pieces everywhere. Anybody want to buy me one of her dresses? 🙂

Covet Fashion App

Have you ever wanted to fill your dream closet with beautiful clothes and not have to pay a thing? With the Covet Fashion App now you can! This free app allows you to create a closet and dress your avatar in designer clothes. You can shop for merchandise or submit your looks to win exclusive pieces. Rachel Zoe also gives fashion advice and judges your clothes!

When you first download the app you are given a certain amount of money to spend on your first outfit and clothes for you to enter events in. You are also given an allowance of $250 every 8 hours. Each event has a different theme or a product that you have to buy to be able to compete in it.

The clothes are very expensive so in addition to your allowance and the money you have in the beginning of the game, you have to earn more money. To earn more money you have to vote on looks (you only get $1) or win an event.

The game is really fun and its great for people who want to learn about new products and designers without actually shopping. There a even few products that I discovered through the app that I want to buy! I highly recommend this app to fashionistas and people who love to play dress up 🙂
